Tortilla Flat Saloon Established in 1904
Located in Tortilla Flats. I quaint little saloon where you can sit on a horse saddle and get drinks at the bar, or grab a table and have a good meal with large portions. Very casual. There are $1 bills plastered all over the wall. They claim there is over $750,000 on the walls of this restaurant. No clue if that is accurate but they are everywhere. The menu is sort of bar/restaurant style with great sandwiches and salads, but it is very tasty. BTW the full time population of Tortilla Flats is 6 people. That's right, there are 6 maintenance staff that live up in the hills but that's it.
This restaurant is expensive but very good. They have very unique cocktails if you are into that. We have been to this restaurant for several special occasions or when we have visitors in town. They specialize in Mexican food and Chinese food which seemed a bit odd, but all the food is wonderful.
We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and love it. The atmosphere is a bit dark and reminds me of the typical supper club in WI. Try the ribs or any of the fish specials they offer each night. Most entrees come with coleslaw which seems to be a feature for the restaurant. It is quite tasty. They have lots of choices but only one red meat option, so if you are in the mood for steak be aware.
Great little Italian restaurant. Not a lot of seating but worth the trip. They also have a market if you want to buy. some homemade pasta or specialty cheeses/meats to take home with you. The staff is very friendly. A bit pricy but they pamper their guests.
I heard about it from a couple of Tom Duzinski's buddies at the breakfast diner he frequents. They rave about this place. Although they do argue about whether there is an upstares dinning room and a downstairs dining room. Fact is there is one dinning room but there is also a nice bar area where you could also eat, either at the bar or at a bar table. You only walk up two steps so I say there is no upstares. Anyway, this restaurant would be a great week night restaurant. The food is great, there is a very wide selection on the menu. They have a good wine selection as well. I would consider this a week night restaurant for two reasons. First, the price is very attractive. Very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Scottsdale. second, the service is good and very fast. You can be in and out of this place in less than an hour without any trouble. We tried to drag the dinner out a little longer but they served the food too fast for that. Deffinately recommend this place. Next time we go I will try the black manhatten. Not sure what makes it black but I will find out.
A great little place where you can sit outside and enjoy authentic Mexican food and margaritas. Plenty of seating outside and they have mister machines to keep you cool if it is hot out. There is a sister company north, near Ellie. The food there is not as good, but it is THE place to go to if you want to be surrounded by packer fans while you are watching a Packer game
This restaurant is in Oldtown Scottsdale. It is in the heart of the town. They have the best cheeseburgers in Arizona as far as I am concerned. They also have a very good chocolate Martini (and BIG). I have never had it but I go there with a couple of people that always have it, and they rave about it. The menu is fairly large so you can go for sandwiches and a beer or stop by for a nice dinner. The people watching is great too. Not unusual to see people who are dressed to be seen. Read into that whatever you will.
