Arrived at BWI airport around 9:00am on Monday. Mother and Jerry picked us up at the airport. Ethan and Ellie will be flying in later in the week, renting a car and driving down to St. Michaels to spend time with us all. But first, we will be meeting with Terry and Stacie Clark to spend a few days wondering around St. Michaels. Lots of activities planned.
Took the Clarks Kayaking on San Demingo creek. We kayak this body of water almost every time we go to St. Michaels.
Of course, when in St. Michaels you have to go crabbing. We rented the same Boston Whaler we rented last year when the Schaefers came to visit. Pretty good boat to crab in. We ended up with 4 large crabs. Not quite enough to take home and steam. We actually caught about 18 or more crabs but the rest were too small by our standard. Turns out they would have been legal. Since we could not steam our own crabs, we headed over the Crab Claw restaurant to buy some crabs. Many of them were the same size as the crabs we threw back. Oh, by the way they cost $11 per crab. WOW!
This is what a professional waterman brings home.
Drinks down at Perry Cabin in. I think this will become a standard when in St. Michaels. The drinks are very unusual, and you get to sit out on the patio and look out over the harbor. We also went e-biking for a day. That was a blast.
Couple of pictures of the little VRBO we stayed in. It is pretty small but perfect for to couples who really like each other!
Dinner out with the gang.
We had a wonderful time showing the Clarks around St. Michaels. I think they enjoyed themselves and I hope that we can do it again sometime. There were so many things we could not show them in the time we have. Now we get to spend a couple days with family. We went crabbing from a dock one day and had a crab feast the next. Always a crowd pleaser.
This was taken on the Oxford ferry. We went over and had dinner in Oxford. Found a new favorite restaurant. No longer the Capsize. Now we go to Doc's Sunset Grill.
Beautiful sunset at the end of the road.
And of course, Carpenter St. Saloon. Always have to stop there.
